Ipswich Town have confirmed there has been 'no sustained interest' by any club for ex-Bull Gavin Williams.
Williams was one of five players made available for transfer by Portman Road boss Jim Magilton last month, despite a year remaining on his contract.
So, 'Willo' is likely to leave the Championship club this summer, but are Hereford United interested?
With the Bulls now a League One club a bid for the return of the 28-year-old gifted midfielder seems a potential option.
The Welsh international has struggled to hold down a first team place with Ipswich due to injuries and suspensions, and although its obvious he does not want to leave Portman Road, he is the type of experienced playmaker Hereford are likely to need next season.
Willo' rejected an extension to his Ipswich contract last summer. A fact that upset Blues boss Jim Magilton at the time, and it is interesting to note that Ipswich signed three midfield players during the January transfer window.
So, however unlikely supporters may feel a move might appear intially, who knows?
Plus, of course, there is the prospect of GT organising another loan deal!
Williams has been joined on the 'open to offers' list at Portman Road by the former Accrington Stanley player Gary Roberts, as well as Dan Harding, Billy Clarke and Matt Richards.
Ipswich boss Jim Magilton told the club's official website:
'We will listen to enquiries for the five players.
'If we don't get any interest that suits all parties then they will obviously be welcomed back for pre-season.
'It's important that these guys play regular football and if it works out that they have to move on to get that then we won't stand in their way.'
Williams spoke to Ipswich World recently after notching up only 14 appearances all season:
'It's been difficult losing my place but I totally understand.
'I've not had a pre-season for two years so I just think that I've not been fit enough.
'It's been frustrating what with being injured at the start of the season and then losing my place in the team.
'But I feel like I'm getting fitter now and hopefully I'll be getting fitter every game I play'.
Indeed, a move to Hereford United could benefit both the player and the clubs involved as Williams needs to regain confidence, and fitness.
And what better place than Edgar Street with a manager who knows him inside and out?
Williams certainly understands the need for consistency:
'Hopefully now I can improve my fitness and get back playing well.
'I need to get games under my belt.'
