The Wolverhampton Wanderers goalkeeper Matt Murray looks set to join Hereford United on loan next week.
Murray, 27, has been plagued by injuries but is now keen to gain first team action as he finds himself behind Carl Ikeme and Wayne Hennessey in the Molineux pecking order.
The Wolverhampton based newspaper 'The Express & Star' claims Murray will make his Hereford debut against Cheltenham Town a week tomorrow!
Quite what that means for United's current No.1 Darren Randolph is pure speculation at this stage.
However, Randolph had fluid removed from a knee injury a couple of weeks ago, but appears to have shaken off any ill effects.
Indeed, after a shaky start to his Hereford loan spell, the Charlton Athletic and Eire U-23 goalkeeper has been in fine form, most notably at Elland Road against Leeds when he was simply outstanding.
Wolves boss Mick McCarthy has been talking about Murray's move to Edgar Street:
'He'll go in time for next weekend.
'I've talked to Graham Turner and we hope we can make that happen.
'He just needs some football and it will be good for him to get a month's football, then we'll see how he is.'
Meanwhile, the Charlton Athletic manager Alan Pardew has stressed his desire to make changes to his squad following their disappointing start to the season.
The Addicks boss wants to see a much improved display against Plymouth at Home Park on Saturday, but has gone on the record recently insisting that the only way to bring a consistent improvement will be to make some changes to personnel.
'I think in the next week, I'm going to make a couple of moves in the in and out department to give us a little boost,' he told the club's official website.
'We've made a number of phone calls this week but, rather than make a rash decision, I've decided we'll approach it next week once I've had a long, hard think about it.
'There are a couple of weaknesses in the squad and we need to address them.
'We've got room, but maybe we'll have to sacrifice one or two to get a couple in.'
So it's all a question of wait and see.
Having said that Murray has always been an exceptional goalkeeper, and if the move does come to fruition, his acquisition should further strengthen the Bulls defence.
